What about organic (fertilizer free) peat moss?
I'm sure these questions have been asked a lot in the past, so thank you in advance for your understanding and willingness to help a newbie out once again. With that said, I have some questions I'm...
Was the bug paste you're referring to "grub pie"? Strangely enough, the description of "meat pie" product actually says its made for pacman frogs (and other carnivores of course).
How exactly do I feed it crickets? I've tried tong feeding, but he doesn't seem interested, which is concerning me since it's been almost a week since he's eaten. Otherwise he is bright green and...
I do have a UVB light, but I was wondering if it's strong enough. Should I have 2.0, 5.0 or 10.0? Unfortunately, the breeder I got him from is sold out.
6084860847 Well, this is the enclosure I came up with on such a short time frame. Hopefully it meets all of his/her requirements.
If that's the case, that sucks. It may be a while before I can get 2 companions for him/her. On the positive side, I only buy captive bred. Do waxies have a breeding season?
Please explain - this is honestly the first time I've heard they need to be kept in groups. Is this a really a must or is it more what would be optimal? Yes, the tank used to be home to a gargoyle...
Forgive my ignorance, Carlos, but why does such a small frog, even when adult size, need so much space? I think I'm going to start with a 12x12x18 exo terra. The ambient temperature in my house is...
I just picked up a sauvagei yesterday at a reptile & amphibian show, but I had no idea they would have any there so I didn't have it's enclosure ready. As a result, I need some help from you good...
Can anyone recommend and good breeders/sellers of CB Waxy Monkey tree frogs on the west coast?
When will you have waxy monkey frogs again?
Thanks. Any other species?
I was wondering what species, other than sauvagii, produce the waxy secretion that makes them a low moisture/humiduty requiring tree frog? Or do all species in this genus do so? Of the species that...
I usually mix eco earth and moss together and tong feed my pacmans, so would ingestion/impaction still be a concern? Does sphagnum moss need to be treated in order to be safe for herps?
Has anyone used this stuff (432 Cu. In. Sphagnum Moss 110 at The Home Depot) in their enclosures? Anyone know if it's safe for amphibians and reptiles?
I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions about heating for me - I was planning on using a UTH to bring up the temp in my 12x12x18. What size UTH should I use and where would be the best...
Thanks, Lynn. I was wondering if you (or anyone else of course) could answer a few questions about heating for me - I was planning on using a UTH to bring up the temp in my 12x12x18. What size UTH...
I've read that Cornuta can be difficult feeders. Is that true of WC and CB?
Would the mini put off too much heat in this size enclosure? That's what I bought, but I'll go get a hermit crab UTH if that would be better.
So, reading the care sheet it suggests placing the UTH on one of the sides of the terrarium instead of the bottom. I've attached a picture of my baby albino pacman's terrarium (14L x 8D x 7H -...
Damn. I was really hoping I could house my Red-eyed Tree frogs with some Amazon Milk frogs. :crushed:
I was wondering about substrate. I have read in care sheets that you can buy play sand from Home Depot and use that, but to rinse it until the water is clear. What exactly do they mean by that? Every...
"People often react to the surprise of a bite by throwing the frog across the room on impulse, so you must be prepared for the chance that you could get bitten and not accidentally harm the frog."
...
Your measurements sound like a basic 10 gallon tank. Some care sheets say that is sufficient for an adult tree frog, but most people recommend an enclosure with more height.
