My male PacMan frog is refusing food. I am going bankrupt buying him Hornworms, and he is not eating them. I don't understand why he has lost his appetite.
Is there something I am doing wrong ?

Ok, but most likely I will have to dig him up first in order to feed him, as he is always buried under the substrate. I'll try feeding at night and see what his response is. Thanks.
I definitely get the sense that he does not like being fed in the Critter Keeper. However, yesterday when in his enclosure, he did eat a Dubia for me. I was pleased.
He loves Horn worms. I'm alot...
Just curious, where do the majority of you Feed your Pacman frogs? In their enclosure? or in a separate critter-keeper type container?
And what time of day or night do you feed your frog?
The best feeding response I get is when I remove him from his enclosure and put him in the Critter Keeper, place the prey items, cover the tank and give him 15-20 minutes to eat in the dark, which...
I'm wondering how often I should offer food ? and should he be fed in his enclosure or removed and fed in his Critter Keeper ?
GOOD NEWS! He Ate Today! and he pooped. So I am very pleased. I discovered the trick with him is to feed him in the Dark. He will not eat if in an open and fully exposed Critter Keeper. I need to...
Here are 2 PICS of my Frog. I took him out yesterday to clean him off and take PICS of him to send to the Seller bought him from. He has an appointment with my Exotic Veterinarian on June 27th.
UPDATE::: I removed him from the tank - examined him - he does not have a lump on his right side at all. So, he does not have any poop inside him. I'm now soaking him in warm water with Honey for...
I've tried warm soaks so frequently, and none of them produced anything. I hate to have to keep digging him up from the substrate as I don't want to stress him even more, but I may have to in order...
I attempted to feed him last evening at 9PM. He would not eat. I checked him this morning. He's still there. I will try feeding him again tonight.
What you are describing is exactly what I did this morning. I removed him from his tank, put him in a critter keeper with Spring Water. Covered the critter keeper, and waited to see if he would poop....
UPDATE::: It has been 2-weeks since ErnieFrog has eaten. He has remained buried under his substrate. I need some suggestions on what I should do. Should I remove him and try to feed him and let him...
No, he is totally submerged. You can not see him at all, and his eyes are not exposed above the substrate. I had him out this morning, washed him off, and he looks good. He does have a water bowl in...
Thank You Dan for your reply. My PacMan frog is a sub-adult, 6-8 Months of age. I have had him since May 8th. He is in a 10-Gallon glass enclosure. He has Eco-Earth substrate, 3-5" in depth. Lamp...
My Pacman has not eaten in a week. I removed him this morning from his enclosure and soaked him in warm water for one-hour. He did not poop. I removed the water, put him back in the Critter Keeper,...
I have nighcrawlers, dubia roaches and the hornworms for him. It's funny, but he literally comes up out of his burrow when he is looking for food - so that is my trigger to feed him. Right now he is...
My PacMan frog's Diet is comprised of 3 items only : Horn worms, Nightcrawlers, and Dubia roaches. All fed with tongs.
Crickets stink and have a foul odor, and they are just to fast and end up...
The good news is that this morning I was able to Feed "Ernie" (4) Horn worms. He was up and out of his burrow, so I knew he was hungry. I'm very glad he ate for me from the tongs, and gobbled down...
I removed him from the enclosure, washed him off a little and took a good look at him. He looks really good. I tried feeding him a Cricket using tongs ......he was not interested. I put him back in...
I will see how he responds with the tongs ..... if no response, then I may take him out and put him in a container with a few Crickets.
I use Spring Water, not tap water. The Spring Water is also in the spray bottle. I only spray once daily, twice if see that it is very dry....
Ok, the good thing is that I was proactive, and did pick up a pair of 10" tongs. I agree. Feeding the crickets this way as well as the worms is just a better idea. I am going to take him out of his...
Funny, I don't recall misting his enclosure this morning .....must be my Age. I've lost my memory. I will monitor it all day to make sure things don't get out of hand........Currently, he is...
UPDATE:: I just checked the tank ......the Temp is 76F . . and the Humidity is 87%. Temp is to Low and Humidity is to High. Dang. I'm going to have to move the Lamp fixture to right above the...
