Re: New FBT - help introducing

Everything you describes sounds like ordinary fire belly behavior. My only concern is that if your recent addition, Hopper is much smaller, (he/she) could be injured. As long as both frogs appear...

Re: Color change and constant barking..

Seems plausible that it is a pre shedding change. I notice my frogs will darken if the temperature drops, but also seem to do it at arbitrary times as well. I've never noticed any connection to...

Re: Fire Belly Toad Died, But How?

I am sorry for your loss.
The gravel should not be a risk for impaction if it is only on the water side. As long as the frogs have no opportunities to pick up any pieces of gravel they can't pass...

    Re: Fire belly setup

don't worry to much about the crickets. Some will inevitably drown, but that's life. The frogs will eat them even if they don't right away, sometimes they will even eat the crickets while they are...

Fire Belly Babies!!!! - advice welcome

So a few weeks ago I noticed a few wriggling critters in the bottom of my vivarium, low and behold I fished out 17 of the little guys. Fast-forward to a week later, another batch of eggs. So I'm at...

Re: HELP! My fbt is all swollen!

Sounds exactly like dropsy to me. I have had success treating it in my firebellies in the past using methylene blue.
It's not to expensive so no worries.
I give the frogs a dip in a water...
  11. Re: Two new vivs. two different methods of BG.

Cool vivariums! Too bad grass doesn't work well, I was considering giving it a shot.

Also, Im 90% sure those are grey tree frogs, as I just raised about a dozen tadpoles and released them. I...
