Just wondering how well D. tinctorius does feeding primarily on lobster roach nymphs. I haven't got access to fruit flies, but any other ideas for feeders are welcome.
Thanks!
I made the switch to hikari recently. It seems like they're only able to take 1.5 cubes worth nowadays. No obvious weight loss though.
I did mysis for a short while but they didn't take to it quite well. Woke up this morning to realize that half the bloodworms were not eaten so I did a water change anyway.
I'll pick up a few...

Here's a bad quality shot in the dead of the night but you get the idea. One of the slimmer ones with the chubbier one scooting off. I'll do a...
I had this issue some time ago and googled it as well. It seems like the floatation is merely a symptom of a varied spectrum of diseases ranging in severity. In my case; daily water changes appeared...
It bothers me how much these frogs seem to eat. I have seven and they easily manage to finish the three cubes worth of frozen bloodworms I give them every three days.
Am I feeding too much? Or...
Cultural gap indeed! I can't even find GS foam here in the stores; though I've heard some of the industrial warehouses have got it in stock.
I think the screen is fine, aluminium is relatively...
White's tree frog. Humidity is always 70-80% here, if not higher, so let's not have any concerns about that.
Not the richest person around so I decided to craft a 85x36x36 arboreal terrarium out of a wood frame. Basically consists of four wood pillars and a wooden base which give it structure, and...
Pretty sure he took the photo at a bad time. Not too certain about the water comment, but they do like it shallow and I recall that the newly transformed froglets drown easily.
If you still have problems with getting them to feed...
They do fine in higher temperatures. 26-27 celsius with a drop to 24 at night should do fine.
I might just want to add this in, but it seems in several cases, a diet with excessive protein above the roaches' needs seemed to have led to the formation of uric acid, which later caused impaction....
You can typically google and find out if the diseases, parasites etc are zoonotic if you know what you're specifically looking for.
Rana erythraea is not a tree frog. If you've been granting it an arboreal habitat, semi-aquatic will be good for a change.
Origins will be quite important with regards to this species. Where, when...
I am finally getting down in two weeks time to design a 30 gallon vivarium for the two juvenile whites, which both finally seem to be healthy, eating and pooping consistently.
The tank will be of...
Nope. Like I said, they are of significantly different sizes.
Some of the smaller ones are in fact, turning black. The roaches I tested refused to eat the vegetables. Not sure what to make of this.
Strangely, majority of these mealworms have not turned black; which indicates that they are probably still alive. Some of them are in fact, also subject to changing mobility throughout the past four...
If it might be really what it is. Then I think the vet visit is one of the only options. Alternatively, as per many suggestions on this site. Email Dr Frye, and buy some meds from him hopefully.
On a second note, to push the prolapse back into the body is not a recommended cause of action. It can become infected through contact with the hand, or placed back in the wrong arrangement. Sorry...
You have him on moss, he looks somewhat bloated. Impaction perhaps? Did you feed him on the moss?
Hospital tank, do a general cleaning on the original tank. In general, how is the other frog?

Great update. Spotted a well sized set of faeces in the waterbowl yesterday, accompanied by a bunch of insect parts. Hopefully with more warming and more honey, I can evade the use of olive oil. I am...
Yes, I did. But this is a possibility nonetheless. Just tested it on a bunch of lobster roaches. Will go up to see.
Excessive shedding could be a sign of chytrid infection. This was discussed at thefrog.org some years ago.
HELP? I am technically due to feed them today based on the schedule.
