My Pacman is a piggy

Rate this Entry
My Pacman frog, Noel, is a piggie. She eats about 4 or 5 crickets if given the chance in a sitting. Mind you I do give 2 full days between feedings as she usually rejects food if too soon. I'm actually glad she doesn't just eat and eat like a dog does, her rejections of food help me to know when she's hungry and when she's not.

When I first got Noel she ate 2 crickets every day or 1 super worm. She was, at first, about 1 inch from nose to bum. Now she's over 2 inches from nose to bum. I do dust her food every other feeding with calcium and once a week with a mix of multivitamin and calcium with D3 dusted on her food. She also has let me know she wants the large crickets as it seems she sees them better and thus gets more excited to see them. She even chases them down!

I think she's loving her new 10 gallon home, it's double the starter size which gives her more room to move and more room for me to put real plants in. Though the plants are still in the pots.

I've tried the worms used for fishing with her but she has little to no interest in them. I might try some other bugs this weekend when I make my weekly trip to the pet store for her yummies. Not sure what I'll try, gonna have to look up which insects would be best for a 2-inch Pacman.

It's funny as heck watching her chase crickets across the cage, her plump body waddling as she goes. I have no idea why she gives chase, but I assume it's because she hasn't the patience to wait for them to get to her.
