Rate this Entry
I have a male blue australian whites tree frog who i have noticed has slight reddening of the belly and legs. There has been no behavior changes ive noticed he does not soak,he is not lethargic ,and is eating fine but he is shedding is this a sympton of shedding?. im a first time whites tree frog owner and i have not had him for very long but the reddening is starting to worry me. What should i do?

Just keep an eye on him, as long as he's eating, not sluggish and no broken blood vessels or sores appear on his underside he should be fine. A pinkish underside may be the result of recent shedding or excercise.

(On a related note, your post would probably get answered more quickly if you posted in the Tree Frogs forum rather than the private blogs.)

We also had the same freakout with our silver whites. The vet said its just his natural belly color and hes a healthy, growing little boy. I about had a heart attack. Bent around the edges to pay over $300 for froggy tests. But it was worth it.
