Two Days In

Rate this Entry
I'm officially two days into having frogs. Duckweed, Olive, and Cowslip are all doing well so far. They seem healthy and happy. I witnessed Cowslip shed her skin yesterday. it was very interesting to watch. I was surprised I got to see it so early in my frog journey.

The frogs ate yesterday. Cowslip, being the largest, got most of the crickets. Olive, being the smallest, only got one. He was late to realize there was food, so that could be why too. I'm feeding them again today to get rid of the last of the large crickets. Then I'll be switching them to small crickets with an every other day feeding schedule. I intend to feed them Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and pick up fresh crickets every Saturday.

Cowslip is worrying me because she seems set on finding a way to jump through glass. She's always hurling herself at the tank walls. It's starting to worry me because she could hurt herself. She's doing it less now, but every morning she tries to get out for a good couple of hours. It seems to really annoy Duckweed when she does it, too.

I'm facing a bit of a dilemma now. I want to make some more room in the water part so I can add a bigger and better filter. But the problem is I would need to remove their cave to do so. All three of them, especially Olive and Cowslip, love that cave. It's there favorite thing about the tank. They like going behind it, climbing it, and Cowslip just spent an hour hiding in there. I'd feel bad for removing it, but cleanliness is important, too. Not sure what to do.

To celebrate getting frogs, I made this lovely collage on Ribbet.com.
