My African Bullfrog isn't eating...What should I do?

I usually take My 9 month old African Bullfrog out of his tank, and let him feast on some mealworms. He usually goes after them, until he's full and doesn't want anymore. But he's not going after them anymore. And I usually keep crickets in the tank, but he doesn't eat them. Can this have anything to do with him hibernating? How often do they hibernate? Sometimes he spends days under the soil and moss. What should I do? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Not many people visit the blog area. If you would like a quicker response post a thread in the GABF section of the forum.

    I can tell you this. Mealworms are a terrible food for frogs. The Chitin that their exoskeleton is made of cannot be digested and in large quantities these worms can cause an Impaction(Intestinal Blockages) that can lead to death. Use night crawlers as your staple food or Dubia Roaches. They are far more easily digested and not nutritious.

    Do you use a Multivitamin and Calcium Powder to dust his food with?

    Yes, I coat his food with that calcium powder. I also coat the crickets as well. He's just not going after what I feed him.

    What are the climate conditions in the enclosure?

    I keep one of those heating pads plugged in all day, so the tank is very warm. I don't have a thermometer in there though. Sometimes, he will spend days under the moss in his hiding spot.
