Cool, I just found one of these in our(me and my families) garden the other day! Mine is a little smaller by the looks of this one though.
yeah i have 3 and there all about 2 inch. They breed in the trees in my front yard every year
that's awesome! I will only find a few alive every year. Then in the fall when the insects starts to die, I will find them on the ground in the yard. ;] So I think they breed in my tree trees too.
mine just died... :[ I think it had parasites. just by the way he/she was acting.
sorry to hear that. I'll find 50+ live ones every year, oddly enough I've never seen dead ones. When I looked them up to get some more detailed info i couldn't find a life span but it said they they live in the same trees all year round. I hope they at least live a year and I'm hoping that at least one of the ones I have is female cause I want to see all the little nimphs.
