I have had these frogs for a while now so I am pretty confident with all of different things that are involved in caring for Red eyed tree frogs..
I have went through a lot of different types of set-ups for my tank, I had water bottom, double layer bottom with drainage, I used coco coir, fur bark chips, and a few other things. I have found the fur bark to be the best choice for me because its less clean up and it is fairly easy to work with. I also dont worry about the plants I put in the tank due to the fact that no one has a for sure answer of what plants can and cant be used.. If the frogs are just climbing on them I dont see the point so I put in plants I like. I have vines and pothos and a palm tree looking plant. My plants have been through a lot and I have had to change them a lot. When I had a water bottom pretty much all my plants died so I just recently went and bought more. So this is the new set up... People are gong to ask about the black thing I have in and frankly I dont know what it is.. It works great I bought it from a thrift store so good luck finding a new another one.. It is some type of rainforest/rain relation maker. I leave it on and it simulates a spot in their that is raining.. It never actually touches the ground it is all self contained. wellll I hope you enjoy, please toss me any ideas or comments you like. If you want to talk about it send me a message I am very interested in your comments.
