Big fat toad that I rudely/accidentally dug up from the mulch pile when mulching the gardens last week. It was near the bottom of a 5ft high pile of wood chip mulch. I assume it was hoping to spend the winter there, but I can't imagine it feels nice on his skin. I was just glad I didn't skewer him with the pitchfork I use to load the mulch into the cart (I do try to be careful!)
