Great advice, friendly people, and lots of frogs!
Front view of my newly made vivarium. It's roughly 20"x12"x12" for about 13 gallons.
Very cool. What did you put in it?
Thanks! So far it just has springtails living in it. I was waiting to let the moss get a foothold before adding a frog, and there's a reptile/herp show I plan to go to in a few weeks to look for an occupant. I'm leaning towards an American Green Frog, but I'll see if there's anything else available that's a match for this viv.
This is the most stylish Vivarium I've ever seen. I love it.
Spectacular! I want one just like it! Where did you get the mushroom ledges?
Thanks! I collected the fungi in the wild from the side of a dead tree near a river. I've found quite a few of them near swamps as well. You want the kind that are hard and woody, so they don't go all mushy in a humid vivarium. I used a small saw to cut off part of the bark with the mushroom. I treated it by boiling it in water until it sank and then just let it air dry before siliconing it to the glass.
Very nice!!! Where did you get that branch? I want one!
