    Default White's tree frog setup

    Hi All!!
Right, am hoping to get a White's tree frog but need to know if the tank I have is suitable. It's a fairy large (35litres.. I think??) glass aquarium that used to house tropical fish. Unfortunatly I can't have a light bulb in as I somehow managed to break the light fitting.. Do White's need UV light? Also, would I need to get a heat mat? I'm pretty confident I can choose the right substrate/water dish etc just wasn't sure about the lighting

That's a very small tank if it's 35 litres. Are you sure it's litres? You don't need a distinct UV source for frogs.

Regarding the heat mat, in my experience they are not a good idea for heating frogs, however if they are used on the side of the tank, rather than the bottom, then they are good for supplementary heating (such as at night in winter). For day time heating I would use a normal day light bulb in a light fixture on top of the terrarium.

Thanks for the reply! Maybe it's 35 gallons, not too hot on measurements and wasn't sure how to edit posts Would frog be ok kept in said tank, in a warm, non-draughty room that has plenty of natural light? And no bulb?

As long as kept warm enough, I don't see why not. Make sure the frog has plenty of ventilation.

Brilliant! Sounds like I'm ready for my 2 baby White's!! My tank has a plastic lid, with lots of vents (too small for escapees!!) and I have a nice warm, non-draughty spot to place the vivarium. Now need to stock up on plants/logs for climbing! Thanks for all the help
