    Default 60 Gal Vertical

I am currently constructing a 60 gal vertical tank, even though I have never seen it done before I think that it will turn out to be quite nice and I think my tree frogs will appreciate it. I will post pictures of the step-by-step process, however I forgot to tank one before I removed the top piece of glass on the middle of the tank. In the process I tore apart one end but I am currently siliconing it back together. And tips, tricks, or advice is always greatly appreciated.

I think if you email some of the sites that provide vertical conversion kit, I think some of them will do a custom conversion kit that would fit your 60 gal. Either way, good luck, I can't wait to see!!

I know my hardware store will pre-cut glass for me when I purchase it, maybe check in there?

Just a word of caution in regards to where you get your glass cut. My local hardware store will cut glass but the precision of that cut and the finished edge leaves a lot to be desired. I spend more money and go to my local glass shop and they cut to very close tolerances and the edges are nicely finished. It cost MORE but I feel its worth it.

The glass shop would be able to give you a price quote prior to the work being accomplished. Also they give you the option of thicker panes of glass if needed. Hardware store that I have used only carry the 3/32 thickness. Anything else is special order.

I tried this with a 55 a few years back for some Rhacodactylus geckos. It turned out great but the main problem was lighting without overheating. The plants in the lower areas of the tank barely got any light. Now If I were to try again I would use plants like Chinese evergreen in the bottom as they are great with low light. Best of luck it should be fun.
