There's a mini filter in the back left corner which hardly makes a ripple on the water.

I was thinking about similar concept. There´s my idea. I think that the hose could be hidden behind the false background made from cork.

That looks good, I love the 'waterfall' effect that you will have. My background at the mo, as you can probably make out, is a couple of place mats lol, but I'm ordering a background from Livefood Direct soon, so that will be better much better.
