Misting water for American Green Tree Frog?

Letting it sit really only works if your local municipality is only adding chlorine to the water, not ammonia as well. In either case though, treating it with dechlorinator from the pet store will take care of those chemicals.

The problem with using tap water for misting is that you risk making hazy areas on your glass from the dissolved chemicals in the water (such as calcium salts, magnesium salts, and even residue from the dechlorinator). For this reason, I recommend you use distilled water or reverse osmosis water for misting.

I have well water that I mist them with and boy is it getting difficult to see into the tank!LOL After I clean the tank today I will go buy a bottle of distilled water!
BTW it is used for ironing and you can find it in the laundary section at your local store. This may be obvious to some, but how many people iron these days and really know where to find it! Hope this helps for someone

Another reason I use distilled or R/O water for misting is because anything else will clog the 10 micron nozzles on my auto misters. Even using distilled water I have to clean the nozzles priodically.

How about boiling the water? Will that take care of the chemicals?

im not sure GTR., but would regular drinking water work like spring water or purified drinking water?

Distilled water is around .79 per gallon. My misting reservoir is 4 gallons and lasts 3 months. It doesn't take much to do the misting.
