Yes, very nice.

im using eco earth (coconut fiber) i partly mix it with moss as well so that it helps keep the humidity level up in the tank.

i have also found its realy good for the frogs as when the dart across the tank for the crickets they easily wipe it out of their mouths, rather then swallowing chunks of soil.

they seem abit annoyed they are now working really hard for their dinner lol. hopefully it will stop them from becoming overweight.

If I were a frog, I would want to live there.

Good thinking. Obesity can lead to all kinds of problems. In the wild they have to work for their dinner.

lol it going really well i have lost 2 already havent seen them all night but they normally change to a brown colour at night so its even harder to spot them now.

but i did put in about 8 crickets last night and the frogs were giving me evil looks as if to say "you bloody find them" im starting to think the frogs dont like me any more.

the blue one was sitting in one of the little pools in the heart of the bromliad last night it was really nice. i had seen an image a while ago of a dart frog doing the same thing but that was an image from the wild, it made me feel good.

it would be really nice to get them as close as i can to there natural life. i know they are captive breed but if i can make there life a little bit more interesting for their benefit then i will.

i did read that every couple of months its good to change things around for them, just to make things more interesting and keep them stimulated rather then letting things become boring. plus it will also mean if i change some of the things they will have to work again to track down the crickets.

i dont plan on changing the plant and at first i will only move the branches around i will be testing the water before i do this as i dont want to overly stress them out.

That's a pretty good idea. When I worked at the Museum of Science in Boston we had enrichment programs for the mammals and birds, but none for the reptiles and amphibians. Many believe that herps don't need enrichment and they may be right, especially with amphibians. But I don't think we should paint all members of these classes with the same brush. Some are more active then others and others show some intelligence. Its these herps that may need enrichment. Besides what harm can come form it.

I have to agree im not sure that i agree that not all animals should have some kind of enrichment in their lives. Whether they be mammals, birds, reptiles etc i personally think all animals should have the best they can have.

But i do also understand that this can also be down to people thinking about animals in a human sense and i admit i am one of the people who like to humanise my pets in my way. I like to think they are giving me evil looks when i know full well that they are just slightly freaked at the large creature staring back.

I guess its just one of those things that in a sense both side are probably right in their own ways.

I try not to put human qualities and emotions on animals, and try to accept them for what and who they are. I know it is very hard not to.

each do have their own personality and emotions for sure, just may not be a human equivelancy.

I always imagine myself as that animal (yes but from some weird human point of view) to see how i would feel in their situation. I know it sounds silly but its how i guess i justify putting, in this case the frogs, in a tank and locking them up i always feel bad for them but at the same time i know they have been breed in the same situation they are in now. its really hard to explain.

It may have to do with more and more recently there have been so many programmes on animals being slaughtered and how endangered so many are. then recently they discovered some more species of frogs and other animals and as you watch the programmes you know full well that they will now be hunted and sold on the black market. it all just seems so unfair what people do to the animals especially when they live in such a beautiful place and next you see them in a small container in a shop.

Don't worry about it. Trust me you don't want to be around me when I start ranting and raving on the subject of humans vs the rest of the animal kingdom.

i have 3 friends and if we watch a documentry thats it we all go off on one esp if its in reguards to animals or kids. it is funny though because we all get so geared up even though we are basically agreeing with each other we all have our own points of view and then it turns into a "who can speak the loudest competition.

I guess I would fit in real well.
