Re: American Toad I found outside earlier 6/20/2012 Looks like a plump male to me, it had a smallish head and overall body just looks like a male. But who knows I could be wrong since I haven't kept these guys in a few years. And yes I did let it back outside, that's why I said "brought it in for a quick shoot".

Re: American Toad I found outside earlier 6/20/2012 Just thought it still young to show the dark throat. We did have a small pond for our ornamental fishes last year but has since filled it with dirt.

Re: American Toad I found outside earlier 6/20/2012 Yeah I've gotta say female to, screams female. Does it chirp when you hold it by the back legs? How large is it exactly? The full with eggs thing might also be true.
