    Default Little moment of excitement

Well... As you might know I have two toadlets of about half a year of age. Just last night I witnessed the larger of the two shedding! I know, it's really not a big deal, but I thought I'd share as it was my first time to ever see this!

Also, about how often do they shed their skin during adolescence? I'd just like to know how many times I've missed this, because it's actually quite fascinating to me.

It’s so fun to witness a frog or toad shed for the first time! I remember my excitement over the shedding process of my first female Wood frog, Chubby, back in 2006. And observing this behavior never gets old lol ;D!!

I’ve seen my frogs shed at least once a week during adolescence….but it may vary from species to species, not sure.

I completely understand! I think it is amazing no matter how many times I see it.

Some frogs and toads are very secretive when they shed. Now that you kmow what to look for, you can keep an eye out.

I was more scared than excited the first time I saw one of my frogs shedding. LOL! I thought it was choking to death or something. After I figured it out, I was excited, though.

The first time I saw my toad shed it freaked me out & I thought he was chocking on some thing so I got out my tweezers and tried to remove the slimy stuff from his mouth. He did NOT like this. Next time I knew what was going on, silly human. Before winter set in I would see them maybe twice a month shedding.

My American Toads shed about twice a month, the first time I seen my toad shed, I was really freaked out...:

Grif probably remembers these photos, I posted a thread and I was like "What's going on with my toad!!??", Grif was among the people to calm me down and tell me that Bruce was just shedding... lol

P.S. I no longer keep them on sand.

    Lol! Cool pictures Royce!

I never see Tank, my pac, shed but he let's me rub the layer off his back on the rare occasion that I even see any shed on him.

Stickers, my Red-Eyed Leaf Frog, looks so cool when she sheds. Looks like she's distorting her whole body in waves. Weird, but very neat .

Aw, I think Tank appreciates that kind gesture Your Red-Eye's method of shedding sounds very intriguing...
