Default I love frogs, but I'm not sure what to get.

    Hi all,
I'm new to these forums. I currently own a bearded dragon, but I'm looking to add to my collection. Frogs have recently caught my eye, but I'm in a bit of a situation. This coming summer and fall, I'll be working a job that will require me to be away from home for a total of 4 consecutive days once a month. The dragon will be fine as her lights are on timers and her bowls will be full of roaches. I'm looking for a frog species that fulfills the following requirements:
-Can go 4 days without me there (I can buy the necessary timers and automatic amenities)
-Preferably feeds on (small) dubia roaches as I'm breeding these very easily.
-Can be handled and isn't too "hoppy" (This isn't absolutely necessary, just would be nice to handle my pet as I do my bearded dragon)

I don't want to get a pet I cannot give a good, healthy life, so please be blunt if frogs simply aren't a good choice for me at the moment. I appreciate all input.

I think quite a few frogs could work for you. Do consider though that frogs absorb all kinds of agents trough their skin, so handling should be restricted to a bare minimum.

White's tree frogs (Litoria caerulea) should work. They can go for some days without food, but can be gluttons when food is available. They don't struggle to much when handled, sometimes it even seems they enjoy the warmth of the hand. They are mostly active at night though; during the day they are impersonating green blobs on the windows, branches etc.

Since you'd be away for four days, I don't recommend White's unless you have a low water setup with a small filter and plenty of places to climb and rest out of the water. Even then I'm not an expert on aquarium upkeep. You might have to do something to it before the four days are up.
