    Default Whites tree frog escaped

Hey everyone my WTF escaped about 4 days ago and I'm not sure if I should give up hope or if there's a chance he's survived. He's escaped before a few times and came back fine. I've set out three water dishes in each room bordering walls and one extra in the middle of the floor but I haven't seen any signs of disturbance in the water.

I live in illinois and keep my apartment at 75 degrees at all times.

    has anyone else experienced this?

Not experienced this myself, but have you tried playing some recordings of wtf calls? Mine always respond, maybe he will too if he's still in the apartment?

Just a thought 😕 hope he comes back!

I did try this and no luck. It was always a hit or miss with him on that. 😔

I've come to terms he may be gone but I have people who keep telling me he's still around and instead of believing false hope I'm coming here to see if it truly is. He is only my second frog and is my first whites so I don't know what chance of survival he has..

I lost a newt a few days ago and I just turned the room upside down and it was in the place I least expected. Look everywhere even under little bits of paper

I lost my wtf at least 6 times. I've 4, each of them is great escape artist. The bigger one is called Hudiney and I had witnessed her after seeing a gap in the tank cover and she'll start making barking noises. After that it will squeeze out. The smaller ones are more opportunistic (silly me-with the tank cover open), when I was minding my business to catch a cricket or 2 and they will escape.

My tank is located outside my house with lots of hiding places, like pots and plants. Some other fish tanks.

I found that the only way to catch them after they escaped, was to camp outside and wait till 2am. And you'll have to be alert but no movement. [emoji23] quite difficult to stay alert and awake that way. But no lights and wait.

I will hear some rustling of plants and move towards there with squinted eyes. And there I will catch the little escapees.

This works for me all the time.

    Hope it helps.

If you didn't in the future you might want to put down a water bowl or two somewhere he might find it. That could help you find him or at least keep him alive. So glad you found him okay.

My 2 tree frogs got out and I found 1 of them in a drawer In a stack of t shirts and the other on the window sill behind the curtains. Be careful opening drawers and such. Good luck. I hope you find your guys.

I did there were at least 10 set out. They were scattered among different rooms. Living in a small apartment it was hard telling what room he was in.

Glad you found him! These threads do not usually end so well! In the future, and so others know, a pedialyte bath is a good idea after they've had their adventure.
