How long do they live for? also whats their care? would a 36x18x24 be ok for two? any captive bred?
Hey Deku, sorry I didn't see this post earlier. Yes, a 67 gallon tank should be enough space for two, and there are several people who have CB Colorado river toads at this time. Here's a couple articles: http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/Natu...do-River-Toad/ http://www.frogforum.net/content.php...n-and-Breeding http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=566146 http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=566759 http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=564201 http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=537756
Colorado river toads are great toads. However, you need to take some precautions due to the highly toxic skin secretions. Always wear "hospital" gloves, plain and no latex. Keeping these frogs are illegal in some states. The skin toxins contain two substances that are classified as Schedule I drugs by the DEA at the federal level and is therefore illegal to buy, possess, and sell.
5-MeO-DMT (5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine)
5-HO-DMT, Bufotenin
Legal possession of these toads on the state level is not very clear.
