Default Staple food & cleansing questions

I've been doing a gut loaded cricket staple, but its a chore. I have to rip hind legs off etc etc. The little one can't catch them and the bigger doesn't seem to see them that well.

I was wondering if moving to earthworms would be a good idea? The nutrition looks great on paper, but info is all over the plae with diarrhea etc. I'm working on tongs when they get better acclimated.

Another question is can you cleanse a frog? When I get new fish I usually feed some epsom salt soaked pellets to cleanse their system.

No reason to try and cleanse a frog. Never heard of it, but they are very sensitive with slow-moving digestive systems so it could easily do more harm than good.

Nightcrawlers without any sort of dye in them (some places will sell green ones that have been fed food dye) are the best staple IMO. Just make sure to do appropriate dusting with calcium and vitamin supplements. They're probably the healthiest staple and will not cause diarrhea in a healthy frog. However, you'll probably have to use tongs to feed them, as they burrow pretty quickly otherwise. Also many pacs won't immediately recognize that they're food, so you might have to annoy them into taking the first couple by rubbing the worm along their mouth until they get ticked off and bite it.

It was just a curiosity. I wasn't sure if you could empty any parasites out of their system that could cause problems combined with the stress of shipping & new environment.

Ok good. Crickets are more trouble than their worth with a bigger frog.
