    Question Some newbie questions

I'm sure these questions have been asked a lot in the past, so thank you in advance for your understanding and willingness to help a newbie out once again. With that said, I have some questions I'm hoping you can help me answer:

    1) Substrate: what is recommended? I am currently using Zoo Med Eco Earth, it that ok? What other substrates would work well too (e.g. peat moss, any others)?
    2) Are the care recommendations different for fantasy frogs than pacman frogs? If so, how?
    3) If I'm using a UTH for a heat source during the winter months, better to put on the side of the tank or under the tank?

Eco earth is a good pick for the bedding. Holds moisture well, low impaction rate.

The uth pad will be alot better mounted to the side. You may have to insulate it to avoid too much heat loss though. Pacmans burrow down to cool off.

IMO I would keep that humidity up around 70%-80%. the humidity in the tank plays a big part in helping them shed, and when the humidity becomes low and dry from what I understand when they do shed it feels like rubbing sand paper over their back. You don't want to stay higher then 80% for long periods of time though because it could cause respritory problems. Again this is only my opinion.

What about organic (fertilizer free) peat moss?
