Hey Guys!
My name is Joshua and I am a College student studying Biology. Part of the reason I love biology so much is because of my increasing fascination for different types of animals, especially tropical animals from Central America, South America, and Africa. I had stopped caring for animals once I started college because I was nervous I wouldn't have enough time to take care of them and I NEVER want to neglect an animal. To my surprise, I have a lot more time on my hands then I anticipated. So a little over a year ago I purchased a panther chameleon. After caring for this extraordinary animal, I started to think about the one animal I had found to be exceptionally gorgeous and intriguing, the dart frog.
Now that I gave a little background information about myself, I wanted to just see if anyone had a link to a really good supply list to help me set up the best vivarium possible. I have a 30 gallon extra tall tank that I planned on using for the vivarium, does anyone recommend using a different tank or is this adequate for a vivarium for 3-4 frogs?
I really appreciate all the help guys!!
Best Regards,
Joshua Seidman
The tank is adequate , especially if you are planing on keeping a species that climbs a bit, like D. Leucomelas. If you are planning on keeping something more terrestrial, like auratus, a lot of the upper tank space is not going to be used, but gives plenty of room for plants. Keep in mind, when keeping a primarily terrestrial frog, the gallon/frog rule goes right out the window. They don't use the full volume, only the floor space. The smaller the floor space, the fewer frogs will be comfortable in it.

Joshua,
I agree with Bill that size tank will work fine.
