Firstly, no vets in my area can treat frogs, unfortunately.. I am wondering if it is an infection of some kind due to the way she is holding her leg out when she sleeps. I am not sure if there is anything I can do for her or not? She is 4+ years old, she has had a good life, but even if this is going to be her end, I do not want her to suffer. I also have to be out of town for 4 days starting tomorrow morning, what crappy timing! Suggestions please?
Sorry your frog isn't well! If you can answer the questions in this thread it will help folks to help you http://www.frogforum.net/tree-frogs/...enclosure.html
I hope something can be done for her. <3
Mom to these fine frogs!
4.4.0 White's tree frogs (Litoria caerulea): Sir Honey Lime, Bok & Choi, Martha, Shirley, Leapin' Loo and Ping & Pong; 0.2.1 Amazon Milk Frogs (Trachycephalus resinifictrix): Otto & Echo and Pip-Squeak aka Tiny
2.0.0 South American Bird Poo Frogs (Hyla marmorata): Ribbit & Rupert
Did she injure herself on something? I would start with neosporin (WITHOUT pain reliever) but she's probably going to need some antibiotics.
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
I am not sure if she injured herself? I read on another forum which someone had a similar situation, thought it could be infected from a cricket bite? There's no vet here I can take her to, not even remotely close to me. I do have some left over antibiotics that I had to give one of my cats recently, it is a white liquid.. I can look to see what the name of it is. Is there any chance I could give her a small amount of cat antibiotics? I was thinking of putting it directly into her water, but doesn't mean she will drink it. I am almost debating on switching her to a smaller tank and taking her with me while I am out of town. I didn't want to touch her or pick her up in case it just made her leg hurt more, so just leaving her be until I figure out what I should be doing about it. Thanks for all the help!
Ok, I have some liquid Metronidazole - 100mg/ml. Anyone know if I can give this to her? And if so, how much? My cat was getting 0.5 ml twice daily, so a very small amount.. she is much much smaller, obviously.

Hmmm ****. I could possibly ask my vet for whatever it is that I need, I am just not sure exactly what is wrong with her and what she needs for treatment. I have been lucky, in the 4/5 years of having her, she has been very healthy until now.
I would definitely ask your vet, even if he/she is not specifically a herp doc. They should still, hopefully, have sources available to them for researching the matter or conferring with a herp vet and getting suggestions. Perhaps they could do a skin swab and check for bacteria or fungus or something and go from there...

At any rate a frog has to be placed in quarantine enclosure ( wet papertowels changed daily, 3 sides covered, decor, that is easily desinfected.).
please also post pic of a frog and its enclosure. Thank you!
