Default New Member and Owner of a 1 inch Red Eyed Tree Frog

So Just received the little guy this morning about 10am and he is still sleeping 14 hours later. Should I be worried I know the red eye had traveled for at least 14 hours. I did add some crickets to the cage as its 1am now an I want to make sure it will eat and be ok.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

He might just still be settling into his new environment. Some animals take longer than others to recover after shipping.

Reds can do 10+ days without eating. They are also famous for protesting when moved or otherwise annoyed. Leave him alone and he will settle down. It may take a day - 3 for him to feel comfortable enough to open his eys and move about. Just keep misting the tank and watching the humidity and temp.

Thumbs up Re: New Member and Owner of a 1 inch Red Eyed Tree Frog

Ironically, I got 2 red eyed tree frogs 3 days ago, I wouldn't really should have fed it the first day, they don't eat the 1-3 day, the 4 day drop a few crickets while their awake , if their sleeping and put the crickets in, they could get bitten my the crickets. so, after a week they should be fine, my female I took out the cage the 2nd day, it seemed to run around my arm and stay their, and it slipped In the cage fine, the boy it took a lot of effort to put in the cage, and when I tried to touch him he like jumped to the other side of the terrarium, basically some animals adjust to the environment easily, others not so much
