    Default Coco Fiber Mats

I've seen one video of a coco fiber mat being used as the floor base on a WTF tank. I'm going to redo the trio's viv and was thinking about using this so I can let them hunt "free range feeders" without worry of grabbin' substrate causing impaction. I'm just to paranoid to let them hunt outside the dish. Just looking to see if anyone else has/is using this.

I think those mats are just sliced coco fiber bricks.

There are coco fiber mats, and I've seen small ones that are used for dart vivs as backgrounds, but I've also seen large rolls of this stuff used in hydroponic gardening and in flower pots also.

Saw video and it's an interesting substrate; but no idea where to get it. If you have YouTube account can PM poster and see if they answer. Someone posted same question on video; but there is no answer yet. That first jump recorded was awesome; specially when seen on slow motion .

The dude has several videos, and he said it's a coco mat that is used mostly for backgrounds, but I'm wondering if it's the same stuff that planters are lined with.

Just PMed you a link Gail. It is thinner and more compact (? I think thats what I mean) than the stuff that lines those hanging planters. That stuff would probably work too though.

Got it and thanks. There is actually a supplier just down the road from me that can cut it to my size so I hope to pick some up by next weekend.

If anyone is looking for this stuff, I recommend checking your area for hydroponic supply places since they most likely will that have 100% organic, food grade mats. Picking up a roll of this stuff next weekend to revamp the WTF viv during Christmas week. Gives me something to do with my last week of vacation time. I'll post pics once I have it completed on my "Gang thread".
