Cool Wat about frozen feeder fish?

    Hey guys, wats up.
I got one question here, since store bought feeder fish always comes with diseases and parasites. How about freeze them before feeding?
I know some of the nutritions might lose, whereas when I used to keep pythons, I feed them frozen mice as staple food, and almost every body do that.
so wat do you guys think about frozen fish.
thx, have a good day all.

    Chinchilla,

That sounds like a good way to get rid of any harmful things that may be in the feeder.
If your frog happily eats from tongs then there shouldn't be a problem
On the other hand, if he or she won't eat something unless there's a lot of movement, it could be an issue. Although it could be worked through.

most ppl believe that pacman only eat living things, however according to my exp they eat wat ever you feed them, if it's not moving, i usually hold it with a tweezers:P it works every single time.
My only concern is wat if the frozen fish cause any kind of impaction.

Freezing does not kill off bacteria and viruses. Many bacteria and viruses create a protective protein shell that shelters them from the cold. This casing is used to protect them as they go dormant. Freezing will not stop infection or pathogens from being passed to the frog.

Freezing will also not get rid of all of the fish medications and antibiotics that are used in high doses in feeder fish tanks. It would be a much better idea to get a 20 gallon or so fish tank an stock it with some feeders and keep them ini good health for a while before feeding to get let them detox and eat a better quality food. Even better would be raising your own feeder fish.
