Hello all. Just curious... what can trigger the aestivation cycle for a frog? I understand that the day/night cycle, feeding quantities, temperature, probably other factors all affect their cycle. However, has anyone witnessed them going into aestivation from just one or a handful of those changes?

My Whites Tree Frog has been refusing food for a few weeks now, when she used to be an absolute monster on her superworms. I switched her to dubia roaches and she refused them for about three weeks before finally eating one or two. Since then she had basically turned her nose up at everything, superworms and roaches alike. She looks pretty normal aside from that. She sits on the bottom of the tank all the time, but then she's an odd frog and has never been a climber since the day I got her. I don't suspect any parasites... yet! However, the possibilities are narrowing down slightly. Is it possible that her picky ways in refusing the food offered to her have forced her into aestivation?

Information:

Frog: Whites Tree Frog
Tank: 18x18x18 Exo Terra
Substrate: Peat moss (I was using the carpet but switched this out for the peat moss a few days ago)
Humidity: 40-60%
Temps: 75 degrees on floor and in the pond
Supplementation: Rep-Cal Calcium and Herptivite (although she hasn't had much of this since she refuses to eat)

Thanks everyone.
