i DO NOT want breeding toads and i have one male and one female, i am thinking about making the switch to a mostly aqautic tank, how deep should the water bee for them not to breed
I would say 2 inches, but I doubt anyone's really experimented much with it.

They like to be able to touch the bottom and have there noses out. They also like little rocks in the water that they can stop and rest on and still have their bodies in the water. Set up the water area with objects in the water and observe their behaviors and adjust the water level accordingly.
I agree go for 2-3 inches of water. Mine have theirs at 3 most of the time. I've gone deeper by a few inches but they did not like it and seemed quite paniced when their feet did not touch the bottom.
