Hey Thanks, Im looking to add a few additons (Milks) over the next week should i quarantine these ? the breeder assured me they have no issues.
whats your take on it?
I'd say it's always best to quarantine just to be on the safe side.
what would you say the best way to quarantine is?
Thanks in advance and the quick replies
I quarantine EVERY frog I get in a 10 gallon tank or 12x12x18 exo terra. I put a dish of water in there, a potted plant, and unprinted paper towel on the floor. Water gets changed daily and the paper towel every 1-2 days. This way, I can make sure they're eating because the crickets have no chance of hiding. You can also keep an eye on their poop and make sure it is a normal consistency and color. This doesn't just make it easier to keep an eye on the frog, it also saves your set up if they come with or develop an illness. It is much easier to clean a nearly empty tank than rip apart an entire set up.

Amy described how quarantine tank should look like, I'll just add.
- cover at least 3 sides if a tank to minimaze stress levels
- fecal testing done, I usually also do and suggest on doing rana and chytrid testing.
-30-90 days in quarantine, released only after negative rana/chytrid tests and 2 negative fecals 2 weeks apart.
- qt tanks are in a separate room, all tools are separate, everything that was used, water, materials bleached before disposing
- disposable gloves used every time
usually qt time for CB animals is about 30-90 days, WC stay for 6-12 months.
