Default Query regarding purchase of White's Tree Frog

Hi. Im currently looking at purchasing a White's Tree Frog and I have been told by the current owners that they dont supply a heat bulb (they do have a heat mat at one side on the outside) or any uv lighting. From what I have read so far they do require both of these things.

I havent got a problem in supplying these as I have spare units that I can use.

Can someone give me some quick advice on this please.

Use a bulb just to have a day/night cycle. As long as the tank stays warm enough you shouldn't need a heat lamp. Do you know the temp of the tank?

Few frogs require UV light. White's certainly do not, since they are nocturnal. The lamps are used for creating day/night cycle and possible provide heat. UV lamps can be used to make plants grow better, but there are other alternatives for that purpose as well.

Okay we are home with frog. I have had a temp probe in there and the current temp is 23.1c, I have a humidity one too and that is reading 71%.

    The tank is 18" high x 12" x 12".

The humidity is fine if a little high. The temp is good if I am converting it to Ferienhiet.

Okay, we have been reading up on various websites but they are quite conflicting with information. Can you give me details of where the humidity should be and what is the min and max heat.

We havent fed him yet today, we thought we would let him settle after being moved. I have crickets and mealworms already as we have them for our bearded dragon.

Finally what do you think of the size of the tank, to me its quite small.

Humidity for whites tree frogs is 50-60%. My temp stays in the between 73-75 f during the day, and 68-69f at night. The tank is to small. It should be 20 gallons for 1 and 10 for each additional frog.

Thanks. I thought the tank was too small so will look around for a bigger one.

Good idea. If your frog is a baby then it will be ok till you get the other one. If not he/she will be a little uncomfortable till you do.

He isnt a baby, he is about 3 inches I suppose. I will get a new enclosure as quickly as I can. Im looking at a 60cm x 45cm x 45cm at the moment. They dont say how many gallons it is though and I havent a clue how to work it out.

That one is 32 us gallons so it should be fine for more than one grown whites.
