I have read through many sources that feeding your pixie too many mice/rats will ultimately lead to fatal complications. But is a strictly rodent diet really terrible for a pixie frog, or can it be done and still be healthy?
A strictly rodent diet should never be done for pixies or any kind of frog. Rodent only diets will cause obesity and corneal lipids which can severely harm your frog's vision. Rodents should only be given once or twice a month as an occasional food source.
I just fed my frogs fuzzies today for the first time and they loved them
I am no expert on pacmans. I've never owned one, so my opinin might be worth nothing.
I don't understand why ever feeding with rodents. 90% of cunning pac owners agree that giving a rodent very seldomly is the most you can give without hurting it. Now, listen to that sentence, "without hurting it". It's not implying that givng few rodents is good for your frog, it just won't hurt theM if given sparesly. So why even risk it? What is the big fuzz with feeding rodents? Since it does the frog no good (at best, it's not dangerous), why not just stick wth powder feeders such as dubias, crickets etc?
Please note that I'm not flaming people that feed with rodent. It is a honest question that's been lurking in my head for some time.
There is nothing wrong with a rodent once every six months to a year. It's not great but variety is always good. You just never want to feed them too many rodents. It's not healthy for them.
like everyone has said it is good to an extent
