Recently I moved my pacman from a tupperwear to a 10 gal aqurium I recently fond at my moms. I cover a section of the top with plastic wrap and added a heat pad to the bottom. I've noticed that a lot of you have heat pads on the sides of the tank. Is this better? Also having some issues with humidity being low. I have eco-earth as substrate, it is not dry but it is not soaked. any suggestions?
The saran wrap should help with your humidity issues, that's what I have on my 10 gallon screen top tank to try to help keep the levels up. Do you mist the tank? You must considering the spray bottle there.

Yes I mist just about every day. I did get a larger heat pad today from my brother. The one I had was small and I got it from petsmart in the frog starter kit they sell.
Putting the heat pad underneath will dry out the substrate, and block much of the heat getting past the substrate.

So it is better to have the bad on the back side then.
Some people think so, yes.

The more your lid is sealed off the more heat and humidity will be trapped in the tank. I have mine almost completely sealed, with a little flap I can open. The only downside is that because its so moist the cocoearth gets wet very quickly. Also, just a suggestion, but you could move the plastic wrap to the center so there are openings on both ends, this well help air circulate better.
Thanks, I was looking at it today and came up with an idea that I used when I kept my snake in the tanks. I'm going to try building a lid that is framed with wood with Plexiglas as the main cove with drilled holes. It will help seal it tight and allow with airflow. When I get back from the NC Repticon show this weekend I will put it all together.
The heat pad on the side is better for Pacman Frogs. Not only is it much less likely to dry out the cocofiber, but it keep the Pacman Frog from getting burned. Pacman Frogs instictively burrow when they are trying to cool themselves. That is one of the big reasons the heater needs to go on the side.
p.s. if you have already stuck the heater on, it is best not to try to re-use it after you take it off. UTH have very delicate wires, so trying to reuse it can cause problems down the road.
