Default New To this site and to this hobby.

Hi guys! My name is Eli. Thank you for having me on your site. I am not a new pet owner as i have had share of reptiles from 8ft boas to my current Bearded dragon. I recently received a Green Tree Frog from a family member. They thought it was a reptile. lol But i have never kept an amphibian before. I am using this opportunity to learn a new branch of this hobby.

I am preparing a 10gallon vertical tank for Him (i heard him calling, so this means he is male right?)

    Here are my questions:

Do they live better in groups 2-4 or alone? (i have a feeling he is lonely)

    How often do they eat?

Do they need a UV light? if so which one?

I am planning on adding a small shallow "pond" on my setup. (keeping it simple), Is this ok or does he need a waterfall?

Any suggestion on plants i should add to the tank or plants that are a "MUST"?

Here is a picture of the little guy. Any name suggestions?

    Definitely male then.

They're not social animals, despite what people think. They only come together to breed and that's it. So they live quite happily alone.

You cold feed them every day, but for adults it's generally best to feed every 2-4 days.

No, they are nocturnal and hide during the day. They don't require UV light.

It's fine to add a pond. He doesn't need it though, and he doesn't need a waterfall. Just mist the terrarium regularly to maintain a nice humidity.

My weakest area of knowledge is plant names. I usually recommend large aroids, like Pothos (sold at the store as Devil's Ivy sometimes). I'm sure there are folks here with more recommendations for you.

I never name my frogs so I'm not a good person to ask ;(.

Hey there! Welcome to the forums!

Thought i would touch on the tank. I think a 10gallon would be fine for him but bigger is always better.
Especially for the price difference. A 20 or 29gallon vert would be awesome . Your frog will really appreciate
the extra room =) Plus there will be enough room for a friend if you decide on it.

Good luck with him! He looks in great condition! Cant wait for updates.
