I have 2 young Pyxies, both doing great on dubias and enclosed at 80 degrees. Bright eyed big appetites and today Doofus is dead. I have raised them this way for years. And 2 days prior to this he took a very large poop. I was out of town and wanted to wait for myself to clean it rather than having my GF do it. Could this be why he dropped dead?? I know they should always be kept clean but this is weird to me. And a total F-ing bummer because he was getting huge.
Sorry to hear about your frog. I don't see how his own poop would kill him.
I don't think you can blame that for him dropping dead. I think it's more likely something else. Based on what you've said though, I can't think of what that might be. Sorry for your loss Bobby.

Awe I'm sorry Bobby! I agree though, the poop probably wouldn't have done him in, there must have been something else going on.

Perhaps some more details and maybe some pics of his corpse and setup can help determine a possible cause for his demise.
Im sorry to hear about Doofus. Im sure it was nothing you did or could have done. Sometimes...its just our time. keep ya chin up big cat.
That sucks, I'm sorry hon.
I lost one a few days ago myself, for no apparent reason. I know it sucks feeling like you're taking good care of something and then watching it die suddenly. Don't beat yourself up over it, because it could have been any number of things that were not in your control. If there is something to learn, by all means do so, but it sounds like your care was fine and it just had something wrong with it.
