I think it is a female because I read somewhere that male Bufo punctatus has a more yellow chin area and I've never heard it croak. Any help or insight would be appreciated!
I tried to get some pictures of her (?) underside
Take a look at the thumbs (front feet) and see if they have any odd colouration or slight enlargement. Also, hold the toad with your thumb and forefinger behind its front legs - mimicking a male frog grabbing it. If the toad makes no noise or the throat doesn't puff out significantly, it's likely it's a female.

hmm the bottom of all it's toes are a yellower cream color.
It didnt do anything when held it. Just sat still.
I guess I'll go with it being a female.
