    Question Crickets with wings?

I just ordered some live crickets for my little bullfrog. I planned on feeding him some and letting the others get older so I could start my own culture. I ordered the 3/4" but noticed there were a couple of adults mixed in with them. The problem is that they have wings... I don't think house crickets have wings but maybe I'm mistaken. Mostly I just need to know if these crickets will be ok to feed to my baby and if anyone can tell me what species of cricket this it would be much appreciated.

Ok thanks! That's a big relief. I haven't seen any crix with wings around Oklahoma so I wasn't sure. I'm glad they will be ok and I'm sure my froggy will love them

Wings are how the adult males make noise. I believe they only start to have wings at the stage just before being a full adult, and even then they are just little nubs that would be easy to miss. The attached picture is an adult female with fully formed wings (she molted recently and will turn darker with age).

Not a stupid question at all!! We only have those black crickets in our yard, so I had never seen a cricket with wings either. One day, in my box of SMALL crickets, I had a big giant adult cricket with wings!! I was very confused myself (I also had a meal worm in that box!) I had no idea they got wings LOL
