This is gonna sound like a really stupid question! I have some petri disks that I ordered from Josh and am ready to place one inside a coconut shell hut. My question is should I use the plastic lid or the body of the disk. The lid is shallower then the bottom.

You may wan't to use the bottom
If you decide to get it out of the terrarium to develop, you can easily fit the lid on top without worrying about eggs layed on the sides.
Personally i use mostly film canisters, or in case of a coconut or other laying shelter, a big leave.
When i see the eggs developing, and tads appear in it.
I gently remove the leave and put it in a petri dish.
There are lots of leaves providing a natural anti fungus protection.
One side note;
i noticed that eggs that are sealed off to much, start molding quicker.
I always make sure there is a little bit of air aloud inside the petridish.
You can place something between bottom and lid on one side so it isn't completely sealed.
Here the leave comes in handy as well, i always let it stick out a bit so it keeps the lid just a little bit up
Any signs of courtship already?
I use whichever side fits best under the cocohut.
Thanks for the comment on the dish. I didn't think about using the lid when removing the eggs. That is a good idea.
No courtship stuff that I can see. I think they are a bit too young at the moment. I do believe I have at least one pair as they seem to spend a lot of time together and the toe pads look right. Never having breed the tincs before I'm only taking a good guess.
I wanted to get the dish into the tank with the hut just in case. Nothing like trying to get the kids to breed!
