    Default Whites

I just got a new baby whites from Petco. He is soo cute he is in my 12x 12x 18x. He/she seems so nice he already likes to sit on my hand. I was wondering how big they have to be to sex them.

They're pretty hard to sex until they're close to maturity, and then you may need to rely on the male croaking and the female not.

    some additional signs....

I thought I had this one all figured out until my female croaked the other night. Now I don't know what it is.... probably a quiet male.

I have a juvenile 2.6" male that has all the adult male indicators:

Croaks (at least once a day)
Nuptial pads on his thumbs (dark brown)
    dark throat
    saggy throat

My now unknown 3" whites has only one male indicator and has only croaked once (though it has made other sounds, that my known male has never made)

Whatever the sex, white's are great frogs and entertaining to watch.

You're going to need a bigger tank than that. They hate being cramped in.

I would agree, but since it's a small whites (how small?), it will be fine in that size for a while. I have a customized 20"w by 25"high by 10" deep that is now too small for my 2 whites. After holding off for a couple months, now it's time for the 18x18x24.

wow, that is small!...any pictures? I would say it will be fine. I have 2 green tree frogs that are 1.5" each and they are almost lost in the 20 gallon they are in. (fun to search for at feeding time)
