Default Huge swimming pool full of tadpoles

    Hi there,
I just found this site and hope someone can help. I have a big pool...about 6 foot deep and it's full of tadpoles.I THINK chorus frog tadpoles. I've fed them they're fat and healthy developing back legs and I realized they have no place to rest or go when they begin the tranisition to frogs. I don't want them to drown. Not sure what to do!

    Hey there!

Im new to frogs myself but if i had to make a solution to your problem i would try to add some branches from the water up out of the pond. When the tads grow strong/large enough they should be able to climb onto the branch and find land.

I can only see this as a temporary solution. Hopefully someone else from the forums can come up with a more permanent solution for you.

    Best of luck!

They will climb out on their own but yeah a branch will help. There are very few surfaces they cant climb. You are gunna have a nice bunch of sound in your back yard this summer.

    Hey Thanks !
That's a perfect idea! I was thinking about building some kind of ramp thing. But the branches are the best way to go. I made it more complicated than need be. Really the little guys should be able to get in and out all by themselves after all the parents did but the water is quite a bit lower..so just in case!! And yes there will be lots of "singing" this summer!! I think I've got my own little eco system going on out there. It's pretty cool

We would love to see some pictures of the tads. Have they turned in to frogs?

Pretty sure they IDed the species correctly - Pacific Chorus Frog. They like swimming pools, as do a lot of other tree frogs.
