Default Out of the box decor

A visit to an antique store had an unusual aquarium set up that could be adapted for frogs and would be a topic of conversation. The bottom was all antique glass, goblets, wineglasses, small vases, bigger vases, pitchers, laying on their side or standing up. Some were colored glass others clear glass. Frogs love to get inside these types of containers outside and I think this idea on substrate maybe with a few plants tucked inbetween would be showstopper. Something different from the jungle theme.

    Hi Alice,
That does sound pretty cool. Might make for an easy cleanup too since you can just rinse glass when needed.

I saw something similar years ago at some restaurant in San Francisco. It was a huge aquarium and they decorated it to look like the water under the bottom of a pier with a bunch of empty antique bottles and glasses as decorations. They even had an old pair of spectacles. It was very cool and yes it could be adapted to a frog tank. The thing that I remember that was so cool about it was that the bottles and glasses they used were very famous and recognizalbe names. They were conversation pieces in and of themselves. I like the idea go for it. But do remember some frogs just aren't that smart. Waldo, my oldest Red Eye, will still to this day sit outside the glass cricket bowl and stare at the crickets and wonder how to get to them. He's been sitting on that same bowl for years but if he happens to approach it from a different direction or something he'll just stare at the outside looking in...for hours. So if you have all these see though objects you may have crickets go inside them and the frogs won't know how to get to them. Think it won't happen...wait and see.
