    Default Exo Terra hygro/thermometer

I purchased a Exo Terra digital hygro/thermometer off the net for my tank after I got my darts. I wanted it because it has a nice little sensor that's easy to hide. the digital sensor I had before worked good and my tank was reading 70-80 degrees and 70-80% humid. Now for some reason for the past few weeks the sensor is reading anywhere from 50-90 degrees sometimes and humid as low as 60%. I keep my room temp at 70-75 all day and have a thermometer in the room. If I wipe the glass off the front doors in my terrarium they start to fog as soon as I close them so im assuming the humidity is closer to 80%. These are my first dart (R. Imitators) and they both like to just hide up in the top corner behind a large branch almost all day, especially when im in the room, im assuming that this behavior is normal. Anyone have any ideas on this? Maybe a bad sensor? If so is there a way to fix it?

Keep your sensor away from the plants ir it can get a false reading. Take it out every so often to dry it out. If the tank is rather small they seem to have to be dried out more often. The condensation builds up inside the sensor it will think its more humid than it is.

Good info about the condensation build-up inside the sensor. I was not aware of that!
