    Default Do springtails eat dead fruitflies?

    I have a viv with a pair of Darts in it, it has an active culture of springtails and im finding a few dead fruitflies laying around every now and then. Do the springtails eat dead fruitflies?

    Springtails should eat everything, mold, fecies, and left over food. You have to maintain a culture from what I understand. Keep replenishing it. Not sure on how often, as I haven't done it.

    Your springtails should be replenished twice a year, simply by adding new ones in. With all the feces and leaf litter, they should be good.

    And yes, they will eat dead fruit flies. However, if you are finding too many dead FF, you might want to decrease the amount you put in. Also, make sure you through away a culture after thirty days.
