    Default Heat Pad Removal

Does anyone know that if you remove an under tank heater pad can it be reapplied (sticky stuff still stick)?

This is really tricky because it really depends on the type of heater you're using. Which brand and size is yours?

I have Exo Terra pads, 4 and 8 watts for my two tanks (18x18x24 for my White's and a 12x12x24 for my Tiger Legs). At first I was using the 4 watt on my big tank (I ordered the wrong size) and I didn't want to buy another one when I bought the bigger 8 watt pad, so I removed it, though this took help from a friend and about 30 minutes to do. I had to insert a ruler under the tank and carefully took it off. This isn't recommended by Exo Terra, or Zoo Med, or All Living Things and probably isn't by people on the forum either, but I did it, it's done. XD; I restuck this pad to my smaller tank, smoothed it out as best I could to avoid air bubbles, but I'm sure I have a few very small ones because of the sticky stuff that still remains on the bottom of my larger tank, but I've had it on there for a few months with no problems.

With my smaller Zoo Med tank heater I've removed and relocated it two times and it still sticks, though now I have to hold it on with tape in the corners. XD It still works at least!

    That's just my experience.

I taped all of mine on and left the plastic cover on the adhesive. They still work great
