    Default How much to feed?

    I've been putting four large crickets in my frog's enclosure every two to three days.

    I just put in four tonight and Matilda was already awake.

    It took her less than two minutes to devour all four.

    I had never seen either of them eat, so I was assuming they were each getting fed.

    What is the proper amount I should be feeding and how often?

    Well, the crickets should be no longer than the space between your frog's eyes to avoid any possibility of choking. I would feed an adult Red Eye two crickets every two days...? One cricket a day? But honestly I'm not sure, I don't know how much Red Eyes eat yet unfortunately, I have yet to get mine.

    Sorry for a little bit of useless information, just wanted to try my hand at some advice. XD;

    Kisa's right. Make sure to only feed your frogs food items that are no bigger than the width between their eyes. The large crickets you fed him isn't going to hurt him but if fed such large prey item there can be a risk of impaction. I feed mine the small to medium size crickets. I order 1000 small crickets a month. So at the beginning of the month all my frogs are eating small crickets. By the end of the month the crickets are pretty good size..any crickets that reach the large size are fed to my pacman frogs. Remember you can also feed roaches, locusts, flies, or other types of cultured insect. Mine don't like worms. Feed them as much as you want ...they don't get fat...but don't have any remaining crickets left in the cage in the morning.
