Anyone know what species these tadpoles are? They come from northeastern United States.
They are about 2.5 to 2.75 inches long.
Tadpoles can be rather hard to identify because some look remarkably like others and it's not until you have a froglet that one can better judge the species. But based on the size and the leg pattern, I will throw at least a guess out there: a Leopard frog (????). Their tadpoles are quite large-and are often confused with Bullfrog tadpoles-and they have a very distinct striped leg pattern on the back legs. Still, this is just a guess, so hopefully someone else can chime in and help you! Best of luck.
Humm.. I am going to ponder a guess at Green frog tadpoles!LOL
