Default Hello from way up north!!

    Hi! I'm new here.

How 'bout a bit of introduction, I'm the proud owner of three beautiful Betta fish. But I am kinda getting tired of all three, so I'm maybe thinking of some Africa Dwarf Frog's to put in my 5g.
Or any other easy to take care of animal that could live in a 5g. aquarium.

I'm looking forward to lost of time spent researching on here, and meeting u all.

    :-)

Hi Kat! By up North, are you talking Canada North? Comme Montréal?

For your aquarium, what about African Clawed Frogs? Easy, aquatic, they like plants and hideouts...

Some say a pacman frog could live in a 5 gallon, others would say no way man, nothing less than a 10 gallon...

    Welcome on Frog Forum.

Welcome to the forum. Dwarfs would be good. Go with a 10 gallon and we can start talking frogs. we'll be happy to convert you here.

Hi Eric! Ya Canada...up in the cold cold part of the world! *lol* I'm closer to Montreal yes.

Can Adf''s and acf's be mixed together? Or is it one or the other?

    Hi!
    I can't go any higher than my 5g., it's also do to space restriction's and outlet's restriction's.
It's either ADF's or salvation army or storage for the tank, I dunno yet.

It's good to see another (close) Montrealer here.

ADF and ACF are not the same, although often misllabelled as one another.

ACF have kind-of claw-like front "hands". ADF are smaller. Clawed frogs will grow quite large. Dwarf frogs never grow larger than an inch and a half in length. Clawed frogs are illegal in California, but not here in Canada... The eyes are really how you can set them apart (besides the size). ACF have buggier looking eyes than ADF.

With the size of your tank, Dwarfs might be the best choice, but make sure you really are buying a dwarf if you do not want to end up with a frog way too big for the enclosure...

    I was thinking Dwarf's too.

To be honest here, I'm getting a bit tired of fish..like I'll still keep my two 2.5's and two Betta's. But I kinda want something that I can touch an play with...

So I can find another kind of animal, to put in my 5g. or get rid of it.

I know I can't touch ADF's, but their still different then fish.
