Default Can you have too many springtails?

My tree frog terrarium was is about 2 months old, I added a small amount of springtails and now I have literally thousands!
Can you have too many and if so what can be done?

If the tree frogs won't eat them, they will go through a population explosion until their food (fungus) is depleted and then the population will return to normal. Dart frogs, especially pumilio and thumbnails will keep the population in check, but I don't think tree frogs eat them.

A new viv has lots of food for springtails and it's normal for them to have a population explosion. If they aren't bothering your frogs, just hold out for a couple of weeks and they will maintain a stable population as long as no new food sources (yeast, anything that will mold when it rots, or mushrooms). You might find that their population will cycle over time, but this first explosion should be the largest.
